This home was designed around timber salvaged from a dilapidated barn on the property. Green building components include soy-based foam insulation, energy efficient windows, Energy Star appliances, low VOC paint, and dual-flush toilets. The house uses a wood stove for heat and is designed to promote passive heating and maximize natural light. Over 20 different specifies of wood are found throughout the home including cork flooring and hardwood flooring from Kentucky forests.
